First, while some things will probably be transferable

  • First, while some things will probably be transferable in the current game New Genesis, the reverse will often not be accurate. There will be new items, emotes, outfits and other items coming to PSO2: NGS which aren't in the present game and PSO2 Meseta for sale will not be transferable. It has been stated that new and old body makeup cannot be outfitted together. This is probably because both games are receiving graphical updates, but personality models will be different and"morph" depending on what game a body decorative is from. Most of your cosmetics collection from CAST parts, outfits, accessories and hair carry around New Genesis though.

Storage will not be a big issue for your extensive collection. Storage information (even growth slots) will be shared between games, and things out of PSO2 can be retrieved as long as they also exist in New Genesis. Meseta won't be transferable, and a brand new currency will be introduced instead. Your Alliance will still exist, but it won't be the same. Sega has said that there will not be Alliance Quarters, Tree or Storage but that Alliance Chat will cross matches. It sounds like Alliances are obtaining a downgrade, but we don't know too much about it yet.

As for other currencies, just Arks Cash and Star Gems will work between games since they can both purchased with real money. FUN and other currencies (likely things such as badges) will not be understated, as New Genesis will probably have new ones in place very similar to Meseta. This is a good design option because it puts everyone in an even level when starting the match.

Your characters will be in a similar situation. Levels, skills and any character development will not transfer over to New Genesis. Instead, everyone will start over at level one, rather than all weapons and components will be available due to cheap Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta using different skins. We have not heard anything regarding courses or if there'll be significant gameplay changes, but we'll probably hear more as the release date gets nearer. Skill Rings are the only equipment that will not transfer because they won't be in New Genesis at all. Similarly, crafting is getting a much-needed overhaul, so those things won't be accessible either.
