Main Features of Cotton Nylon Fabric

  • The cotton nylon fabric(WANSHIYITEX) is a flame retardant fabric made by processing cotton and nylon blended fabric with flame retardant technology. According to the general requirements of cotton nylon fabric on the original grey fabric, the nylon content should not be higher than 20%, and what we usually see is 88% cotton fibre +12% nylon fibre.

    Polyamide fibres such as nylon generally have a melting point of 215℃, a decomposition temperature of 315℃, and an ignition point of 530℃. nylon (nylon) fibres are considered to have self-extinguishing properties because their melting points are quite different from the ignition point temperature, and they are easy to melt and drip during combustion, thus they are separated from the supply of goods and do not burn. The requirement of flame retardant for cotton and nylon fabrics is that nitrogen and phosphorus flame retardants have a good effect on polyester and cotton fabrics, but the effect on nylon fabrics is not ideal, and chlorine-containing flame retardants such as chloride and bromide have little effect on the flame retardant of cotton and nylon fabrics. In actual production, we generally use Proban flame retardant or PytrovatexCP, both of which are phosphorus-containing flame retardants.

    Therefore, the proportion content of the cotton nylon fabric is generally not higher than 20%, and the main characteristic is that after the flame retardant is used for production and finishing, permanent crosslinking is formed inside the fabric, so that the fabric has durable flame retardant performance, good washing resistance, no toxicity or peculiar smell, safety and reliability to human bodies, air permeability and moisture permeability, soft hand feel and comfortable wearing. The flame retardant fabric not only can effectively prevent flame spread but also can maintain the original performance of the fabric.

    Cotton nylon fabric has good wear resistance, better strength, softer hand feel and other characteristics. Protective clothing made of this fabric can not only have excellent flame retardant performance but also effectively prevent sparks and metal droplets from splashing. Its ATPV value is higher, and its thermal protection performance is better. It is a relatively high-end choice among flame retardant fabrics. The flame retardant used is a durable finishing flame retardant for cotton fibres and their blended fabrics.
