Principles for The Use of Thimbles for Household Products Mould

  • 1. The principle of thimble placement

    (1) Household Product Mould(FURNITUREMOULD) thimbles should be arranged so that the ejection force is as balanced as possible. Complex structures require release forces, so the number of casings should be increased.

    (2) The thimble should be placed in an effective part, such as bone, column, step, metal insert, part of thick rubber and other complex parts. The apical needles on both sides of the bone and column positions should be arranged as symmetrically as possible. The distance between the thimble and the bone position and the position of the column position is typically D = 1.5 mm. In addition, make sure that the center of the thimble on both sides of the column passes through the center of the column.

    (3) Avoid thimbles on the steps or inclined surfaces. The top surface of the thimble should be as flat as possible. The thimble should be placed on the structural components with good force.

    (4) When the rubber portion has a deep bone position (depth ≥ 20 mm) or it is difficult to arrange the dome needle, a flat thimble should be used. When a flat thimble is used, the flat thimble should be in the form of an insert to facilitate processing.

    (5) Avoid the use of sharp steel and thin steel plates, especially the top surface of the thimble cannot touch the front die face.

    (6) The thimble arrangement should consider the edge spacing between the ejector pin and the water delivery channel to avoid affecting the processing and water leakage of the water delivery channel.

    (7) Considering the venting function of the thimble, the thimble should be placed at a portion where vacuum is easily formed to discharge the ejector.

    (8) For plastic parts with appearance requirements, the thimble should not be placed on the design surface, and other ejection methods should be used.

    (9) For transparent plastic parts, the thimble cannot be placed in the area where light transmission is required.

    2. The principle of selecting the thimble for household products mould

    (1) Select a thimble with a larger diameter. That is to say, in the case of a sufficient injection position, a thimble of a larger diameter and size should be used.

    (2) The size of the thimble should be as small as possible. When using a thimble, the size of the thimble should be adjusted to minimize size and size, and the preferred size series should be used whenever possible.

    (3) The selected thimble should meet the requirements of ejection strength. When ejector, the thimble should be subjected to a lot of pressure. In order to avoid bending deformation of the small thimble, when the thimble diameter is less than 2.5 mm, the thimble should be selected.
